A strong and thoughtful advocate for clients inside and outside the courtroom.

After spending almost two decades at two of the world’s largest law firms, overseeing all civil litigation for the State of Texas, serving as a law clerk to a federal appellate judge, and working as a CPA for one of the Big Four firms, Darren has an unusual breadth of knowledge and experience.  He is familiar with the courtroom, the media, state and federal agencies, complex financial issues, and emerging technology.  Darren spearheaded a multistate antitrust investigation of one of the world’s largest digital platforms, resulting in both federal and state enforcement actions. He has defended financial, energy, automobile manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aircraft manufacturing, and other firms against class actions, government investigations, and civil actions.  He has represented antitrust, healthcare, minority shareholder, technology, and other plaintiffs in a range of matters.  He has successfully taken clients from dispute, to trial, to judgment, and appeal in both federal and state courts across the country.

But some of his most significant successes have come outside the courtroom.  Darren has resolved long-lingering lawsuits that others considered “unsettleable”— negotiating important settlements for both private and public clients.

Darren graduated from the William and Mary School of Law, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the William and Mary Law Review.  He began his legal career as a law clerk to the late, Honorable Karen J. Williams, former Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  He earned his BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business, and practiced as a CPA and airline industry consultant before attending law school.
